FSAA National Awards of Excellence
Proudly Co-Sponsored by:
Judging Criteria Foodservice Distributor of the YearReceiving positive feedback form last year, we have introduced two awards in each state, except Tasmania – one for metro distributor of the year and another for regional distributor of the year. These Awards were decided by means of a rating system across six criteria and voted upon by a strong cross-section of suppliers to the Foodservice Distribution channel. Voters were required to rate from 1-5 points (5 equalling excellent) the following criteria across each nomination: - Communication with supplier.
- Business co-operation with the supplier.
- Staff & site professionalism.
- Administration.
- End user relationships and
- Marketing commitment.
To facilitate a clear outcome, voters were allowed to rate to one decimal place (e.g. 4.6 instead of just 4) State finalists and winners were decided by the most number of nominations across all voting suppliers and in the event of an equal number of nominations, the highest aggregate points decided the winner. The highest point scorer in each state, whether metro or regional, are automatic finalists for the National Foodservice Distributor of the Year Award, which is awarded to the overall highest scoring distributor. National Supplier of the YearThese Awards utilise a rating system similar to that employed in the Australian Customer Service Awards. The customer base in each category was then approached to rate those companies they considered worthy of consideration e.g. the major Foodservice Distributor groups rated the Food, Beverage and Tabletop supplier categories. Voters were asked to rate companies from 1-5 points (5 equalling excellent) against criteria such as - Communication.
- Business Co-Operation.
- Staff Professionalism.
- Administration and
- Marketing Support.
To facilitate a clear outcome, voters were allowed to rate to one decimal place (e.g. 4.6 instead of just 4) The winners in each category is decided by the company with the overall highest score from all of the voters. Innovation of the YearThis Award was based on applications from any supply company within the industry and across any area: product, service, marketing, brand development, customer service, technology, OHS&E, quality management, staff development and industry benefit. Companies applied to be considered for the Award based on four criteria: - the innovation must be Foodservice specific
- it must have been introduced within the last twelve months
- how the innovation differentiated itself within the industry
- delivery of evidence of how it was conceived, developed and introduced
Each answer was rated from 1-5 (5 equalling excellent). To facilitate a clear outcome, judges rated each answer to one decimal place (e.g. 4.6 instead of just 4). The finalists and winner were decided were decided according to those entries deemed to have adequately answered the four criteria and the highest points allocated by the judges across the criteria. JudgingThis year has seen the introduction of categories being scored by the customer base within each of the categories. Given this provides the best “impartial” method of determining the finalists and winners, it eliminated the need for judges, with the exception of the Innovation of the Year category. Judges in that category came from a range of supply channels to the industry and were invited to judge based on their impartiality, industry expertise and knowledge.
